“I am currently a Textile Design student at Chelsea College of Arts in London UAL. I have dedicated many of my projects to the Russian Arts and Crafts movement and women's roles in Russian mythology. I take great inspiration and knowledge from folk textile artists and fine art creatives from my country, as I find a sense of comfort in channelling images of old Russian folk tales in my work. As a textile designer specialising in print, my focus lies within manipulating and changing the surface of fabrics to create unusual visual effects through processes of dyeing, painting and screen printing. I am an avid lover of watercolour painting; each watercolour piece I create plays a significant role in informing my further steps and the effects I should aim for. My knowledge of textiles, clothing construction and styling are my main tools in work.”
