Hedvig Ljungström designs could be described as playful and experimental, as she is always eager to investigate and develop new ideas. Historical influences, exaggerated shapes and colors are often featured in her work. Not knowing exactly what the outcome will look like, drives the designers practice and imagination forward.
In her latest collection, Mother Elizabeth, the designer presented six outfits made out of discarded baby garments. When combining the waste material with references from the renaissance queen, she found unexpected correlations that gave new life to the discarded garments.
As much as the aim of Hedvig’s work is to spread joy, she also strives to design responsibly which is a must when being a part of this industry.
